The name Tångring comes from Nina Tångring's father's great-grandfather Johan Olsson, later Johan Olsson Tångring. He was born in 1829 and was a blacksmith in Järvsö. A ring is used to hold the handles of the pliers together - in Swedish called a "tångring". But Johan didn't need such a ring, but held the handles of the pliers together with his hand. So he got the name Tångring. In our logo, we have replaced the Swedish letter Å with a pair of pliers.
